Darwinian evolution of earliest life? Read this, close your eyes, and just plain believe

Re the earliest fossil find in Australia, physicist Rob Sheldon writes to say,
There wasn’t time for evolution, even before this fossil. We have evidence from Carbon isotope fractionation that life was present 3.6bn years ago. So there is really only a 100 Myr gap between the cooling of the crust from the 3.85bn year bombardment and the first life. Kinda abrupt, I’d say.
Rob, believing can bring Darwin back to life. Close your eyes … close your eyes … think calm thoughts of Darwin …
