Ground crews around the country are battling permafrost for the upcoming baseball season, the Coast Guard is dealing with 30 inch ice on Lake Superior and another major snow storm just put Philadelphia over 67 inches of snow making this winter the second snowiest on record there while another major Nor’Easter appears to be shaping up. March certainly isn’t going out like a lamb and all of this is merely an exclamation point on the frigid cold from earlier in the season. From the snow in Cairo to the coldest football game ever played, the weather has not cooperated with the so-called AGW (anthropogenic, or man-made, global warming) theory. AGW has a trail of failed predictions and years ago leaked emails revealed a massive effort to manipulate and control the science by AGW proponents. So it was already clear that AGW did not come from unbiased, objective truth-seeking scientists in their clean white lab coats. And their recruitment of Al Gore to shout-out the message further demonstrated AGW was about more than “just science.” Of course none of this necessarily means AGW is incorrect. It is possible that politics, abuse of science, manipulation and theoretical failures are just accidentally tainting what at the core is legitimate and thoughtful science. It does however reveal the dogmatic AGW truth claims for what they are. As the old saying goes, it’s not what they don’t know that scares me, but what they know for sure. AGW may well be true, it may be false, or it may be somewhere in between. We just don’t know for sure. But that’s the point—we don’t know, and what we need are thoughtful minds to come forward on this important issue. Instead AGW proponents are doubling down.  Read more

Hi Allen- What is the temperature of earth supposed to be? If you don't know tgghen any claims of warming are relative and meaningless. Here in my part of the Northeast the winters have been plenty cold, well except for two yars ago. This year has been ridiculous wrt cold. I went through 3 tons of pellets and 250 gallons of oil this winter. Usually that lasts until May. Warm Earth is good. Cold earth is bad.Joe

And, FWIW, Cayuga's waters are once again virtually ice-free, almost a month ahead of when they were ice-free in the late 19th century and up through the mid-1970s. Again, the so-called "argument" in the OP is anecdotal bullshit.Allen_MacNeill

So, according to the logic of this post, one cold winter (not anywhere near as cold here in the northeast as the winter of 1977) trumps three decades of anomalously warm winters: http://evolutionlist.blogspot.com/2014/01/another-week-of-sub-zero-weather-here.html And the fact that the western US is drying out under the longest and hardest drought in a century, while the southern hemisphere bakes and burns (my daughter lives in Australia; they know what's going on there, even if you don't). This is anecdotal bullshit, pure and simple. Not science. I agree that "consensus science" is suspect science, but that doesn't mean that this means that anecdotal bullshit counts. Start posting links to reputable climate scientists who provide data that global warming isn't happening. Until you do this, your posts are of no more use than the sound of the snowmelt pattering off my roof.Allen_MacNeill

As well, non local, i.e. beyond space and time, quantum actions provide solid support for the argument from motion. Also known as Aquinas’ First way. (Of note, St Thomas Aquinas lived from 1225 to 7 March 1274.)
Aquinas’ First Way – (The First Mover – Unmoved Mover) - video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qmpw0_w27As Aquinas’ First Way 1) Change in nature is elevation of potency to act. 2) Potency cannot actualize itself, because it does not exist actually. 3) Potency must be actualized by another, which is itself in act. 4) Essentially ordered series of causes (elevations of potency to act) exist in nature. 5) An essentially ordered series of elevations from potency to act cannot be in infinite regress, because the series must be actualized by something that is itself in act without the need for elevation from potency. 6) The ground of an essentially ordered series of elevations from potency to act must be pure act with respect to the casual series. 7) This Pure Act– Prime Mover– is what we call God. http://egnorance.blogspot.com/2011/08/aquinas-first-way.html
Or to put it much more simply:
"The ‘First Mover’ is necessary for change occurring at each moment." Michael Egnor – Aquinas’ First Way http://www.evolutionnews.org/2009/09/jerry_coyne_and_aquinas_first.html
The following video is also very helpful in understanding the "First Mover" argument:
The Laws of Nature (Have Never ‘Caused’ Anything) by C.S. Lewis – doodle video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_20yiBQAIlk
Of related interest to ‘the first mover’ argument, in the following video Anton Zeilinger, whose group is arguably the best group of experimentalists in quantum physics today, ‘tries’ to explain the double slit experiment to Morgan Freeman:
Quantum Mechanics - Double Slit Experiment. Is anything real? (Prof. Anton Zeilinger) - video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayvbKafw2g0
Prof. Zeilinger makes this rather startling statement in the preceding video that meshes perfectly with the 'first mover argument':
"The path taken by the photon is not an element of reality. We are not allowed to talk about the photon passing through this or this slit. Neither are we allowed to say the photon passes through both slits. All this kind of language is not applicable." Anton Zeilinger
Thus, although many times we may not personally like the weather, such as the extremely cold winter we just experienced, that does not detract from the fact that as far as a best science can tell us, God is ultimately in control of the weather as well as everything else in the universe!
…the “paradox” is only a conflict between reality and your feeling of what reality “ought to be.” Richard Feynman, in The Feynman Lectures on Physics, vol III, p. 18-9 (1965)

If You're Praying For Rain, Bring Your Umbrella - Leslee Horner, June 28, 2012 Excerpt: I recently read a book that had a little story about having faith like a child. It went like this. A large group of people gathered to pray for rain but only one little girl brought an umbrella. http://www.owningpink.com/blogs/owning-pink/if-youre-praying-rain-bring-your-umbrella
Along that line, a lot of people, for whatever reason, are under the impression that God is not in control of the weather. To dispel that false belief I would like to offer a few facts: First, water Is Intelligently Designed with many anomalous life enabling properties of water:
Water's remarkable capabilities - December 2010 - Peer Reviewed Excerpt: All these traits are contained in a simple molecule of only three atoms. One of the most difficult tasks for an engineer is to design for multiple criteria at once. ... Satisfying all these criteria in one simple design is an engineering marvel. Also, the design process goes very deep since many characteristics would necessarily be changed if one were to alter fundamental physical properties such as the strong nuclear force or the size of the electron. http://www.evolutionnews.org/2010/12/pro-intelligent_design_peer_re042211.html Anomalous life enabling properties of water http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/water/anmlies.html
Moreover, these anomalous life enabling properties of water are balanced on a 'knife's edge' that go all the way down to the 'spooky' quantum level of the water molecule:
Water's quantum weirdness makes life possible - October 2011 Excerpt: WATER'S life-giving properties exist on a knife-edge. It turns out that life as we know it relies on a fortuitous, but incredibly delicate, balance of quantum forces.,,, They found that the hydrogen-oxygen bonds were slightly longer than the deuterium-oxygen ones, which is what you would expect if quantum uncertainty was affecting water’s structure. “No one has ever really measured that before,” says Benmore. We are used to the idea that the cosmos’s physical constants are fine-tuned for life. Now it seems water’s quantum forces can be added to this “just right” list. http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21228354.900-waters-quantum-weirdness-makes-life-possible.html
As well, rainbows are formed by what are called ‘Quantum Catastrophes’. Thus, since I find Quantum Mechanical phenomena to be thoroughly Theistic in its non-local beyond space and time actions, (as to the necessity of providing a coherent beyond space and time cause that does not dissolve into absurdity as the postulated materialistic many-words does), then yes I actually do think God does form rainbows;
Quantum Catastrophes Excerpt: Catastrophes [1] are at the heart of many fascinating optical phenomena. The most prominent example of such a catastrophe is the rainbow. http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/~ulf/catastrophe.html 27 Amazing Miracles in Real Life Excerpt: Our son died of a brain tumor at 17. On the second anniversary of his death, as I was driving to work, a double rainbow appeared in the clear sky. One end was on the road in front of us and the other at the cemetery where he was buried. — Peggy H., Boone, North Carolina http://www.rd.com/family/27-amazing-miracles-in-real-life-2/ Genesis 9:13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
As well, to add more weight to the fact that God is ultimately in control of the weather, (as well as everything else in the universe),
‘Quantum Magic’ Without Any ‘Spooky Action at a Distance’ – June 2011 Excerpt: A team of researchers led by Anton Zeilinger at the University of Vienna and the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences used a system which does not allow for entanglement, and still found results which cannot be interpreted classically. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/06/110624111942.htm
Put more simply, a photon is not a self existent entity but is dependent on a 'non-local', beyond space and time, cause to explain its continued existence within space-time. i.e. as Theists have always held, God 'sustains' the universe!
Acts 17:28 For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as also certain of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
This 'non-local' finding for individual photons also dovetails perfectly into one of the oldest philosophical arguments for the existence of God:
Aquinas' Third way - video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V030hvnX5a4 God Is the Best Explanation For Why Anything At All Exists - William Lane Craig - video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjuqBxg_5mA

Oh, no. We know for certain that Global Warming was always a fraud. See anything at Climate Depot. The kind of people (Socialists who desire panels of Eminent Experts to make all decisions without debate or voting) who are now selling Global Warming were selling The New Ice Age back in the '70s. Like Evolution being Settled Science, Global Warming is about Control and BILLIONS of government dollars for grants and studies. The predictions are all based on computer models, not field data. And the models not only cannot "post-dict" the massive warming during the 1930s, they can't account for CLOUDS as an influence on weather and they are done at such a gross scale (600 miles squares) that the entire island chain that makes up Japan is "averaged" into "open ocean". There is also this problem that: 1) the effect of atmospheric CO2 levels is NOT linear (it falls off as the concentration increases), and 2) CO2 is PLANT FOOD: the increase in C02 over the last few decades has caused increased growth in forests around the world. And the models haven't gotten any better in the 40 years they've been building and running them. Kinda smells like trying to get lab experiments agree with predicts of Evolution, doesn't it.mahuna
