The initial set of abstracts for the Engineering and Metaphysics conference this summer has been posted. More will be coming, and they will be posted when they finish the review process. If you are interested in submitting an abstract for a talk, the deadline is fast approaching – March 31st.

There are a lot of interesting ideas being discussed, and the conference will feature at least one open forum for topic discussion as well. It’s a lot to pack into two days, but it should be fun!

Check out the conference website for more information or to register.

All, Thanks for the encouragement. My expertise is in AI search algorithms, mathematical combinatorics, and FEA (finite element analysis) of dynamic, nonlinear, transient systems. I've been given a promotion at work which will require even more time to solve problems with FEA simulations concerning an inflatable isotensoid supersonic decelerator for upcoming Mars missions. But what do I know? I'm just one of those mindless religious fanatics who can't think clearly, can't ascertain the undeniable truth of the creative power of Darwinian mechanisms, and who thinks that the Darwinian hypothesis is junk science on steroids. I'll make a promise: I'll write a paper for next year's event.GilDodgen

I don't know how you could not write that paper, Gil. To be on the vanguard of a world changing science is an opportunity few get. Grab it, man!Mike LaFontaine

kuartus - The conference has not yet occurred. These are the abstracts for the presentations. There is no guarantee that any of these will translate into papers, though I hope they all will. The papers will not be submitted until after the conference, so the presenters can utilize the feedback from the conference attendees to sharpen their ideas. However, if you wish to read a paper on a similar subject, you should check out Halsmer et al's "The Coherence of an Engineered World". - http://library.witpress.com/pages/PaperInfo.asp?PaperID=19279johnnyb

Gil - You should give it a go - take your years of experience in AI and other fields and help the rest of us out! Lots of work, but I think the rest of us would benefit greatly.johnnyb

I would love to present a paper, and I could write a really good one. Unfortunately, I do engineering and commuting from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day, sleep eight hours a day, and therefore have only about four hours a day for everything else in life.GilDodgen
