[...] By the way, if the issue is money (i.e., a lab at Baylor requires start-up funds), it should be pointed out that the Evolutionary Informatics Lab did have funds pledged toward it: Prof. Marks secured a $30,000 grant for me to work with him as a postdoctoral fellow (with the title senior research scientist) on evolutionary informatics. President Lilley, however, decided to return that money and revoke my fellowship back in December 2006 (for that story, go here). So even the money argument doesn’t work.
Exactly what research on ID were Dr. Marks and Dembski working on? Are there any published papers from their collaboration that are available? I would like to know what the administrators at Baylor were so afraid of.

What is so interesting is that the administration so kowtows to these presumably internal forces even when most of it's alumni supporters, I assume, would at least be against a blatant secular worldview.

Baylor is going down the proverbial tube - into the Brazos river.

These cowards sold Bill Dembski out because they love status and influence in this world more than they love truth. So much for the teachings of Christ and all that.

"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ" - Galatians 1:10

You can't soar like an eagle when you are surrounded by ostriches.

This is disheartening, but it could be worse. Don't forget that Einstein had to work in a patent office. A lot of people already believe in ID, so your work continues to be important. When people discover how badly the NDE behave they will have even less credibility. Why suppress the ID if it is so weak? The truth will out in the end.

It is hard to see this as anything less than persecution. Persecution for detecting signs of intelligence in the design and progress of the universe and the biosphere.

Bill you are familiar with 'First Contact'. The film has only played half way so far.

Those who persecute others do so because they are afraid. There is only One they should fear.
