And Joel wrote the song to help her get over her tragically broken heart.

Of course, I could be making this all up out of whole cloth.

Anyone have the inside scoop on what the “ominous parallels” are between Uptown Girl and Dembski? My curiosity is piqued, but not enough to where I would actually want to read such a book.

Good point. These are the same people that preach tolerance and diversity ad nauseum. Oh yes, and “thou shalt not judge” is the only bible verse they seem to be familiar with.

But, of course, they have earned the right to say what they say. Because they are more intelligent and witty than everyone else, don’t you know? And they have friends in Hollywood, and know all the right people, and go to all the right parties. Besides, you just don’t get it — they have the market on real virtue — they are the very ones that will save the planet from global warming. And, by the way, even though most of them did not live back then, they actually defeated Nazism and Fascism, to hear them talk. And though they never felt the water cannons or the canine fangs, they also ended segregation and discrimination.

Yes, they sure know how to congragulate themselves in a language that only they can speak. For the rest of us, I suppose we are just supposed to stand back and be impressed. Hmmmm.

I hope that, beyond lambasting and complaining about this kind of c-rap, defenders of science and general truth-seeking will become real activists in their own neighborhoods. E.g. 1) buy extra copies of “Privileged Planet” and “Mystery of Life” and loan them to co-workers and neighbors; 2) Volunteer to teach a series on this subject to high school and college groups at your church; 3) write book reviews / letters to the editor in your local paper; 4) meet with your representatives and give them succinct outlines and talking points to work from.

Any other ideas?

Bill is exactly right – we need to work doubly hard to put these id-iots out of business.

Let’s get it on our agenda…

I think some of you have made good points. At first, it was their policy to ignore ID. Now, because they can’t properly dispute it, they mock it and attack those who accept it.

It does appear the tide is turning. We already know that something like 70-80% of Americans believe in ID (though they don’t know that’s what they believe) in some form. Once they’re more educated as to what ID is, the theory of evolution will lose validity in the eyes of most people in America — this is what scares the Darwinists.

Personally, I don’t mind the vitriol of the anti-ID crowd one bit. The more they warn us how ID theory will lead to the death of science, or the demise of civilization, or the end of democracy–that if we’re listened to, an oppressive theocracy will entrench itself o’er the land, and Bible study classes will become mandatory, and the women will be forced to wear burqas, and Jerry Falwell will declare himself Great Grand High Poohbah and Dictator for Life–the more the general public will recognized the intellectual bankrupty of those who adhere so stringently to Darwinism and NDE.

Remember, we’re not laughing WITH them, we’re laughing AT them! And, oh, what thund’rous laughter it is!

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out this person has great hatred toward James Dobson. While I haven’t read this book this review says a lot in itself. The best way to respond is being kind to reveal the darkness in their own heart.
