   ok, I thought evolution is science and science is evolution and any attack on one is an attack on the other. So, evolution is to science as science is to evolution.

   Hey, Gil, you might want to change your last entry from “philosophical speculation” to just plain “speculation”, “fanciful speculation”, or something like that. Philosophy – good philosophy, that is – is on the side of the angels in the ID debate, as attested by the likes of Bill, Paul Nelson, Jay Richards, etc.

   Anyway, here are a couple of my suggestions:

   E is to S as Dr. Strangelove is to Einstein.
   E is to S as Gilligan is to Admiral Lord Nelson.

   YY = Economics

   XX = Religious fanaticism

   Good point Alan. I had materialistic philosophy in mind, so how about:

   XX = Speculation Based on a Commitment to Philosophical Naturalism (a little wordy, but oh well)
   YY = Engineering

   and I’ll add

   XX = Perpetual-Motion Machines
   YY = Jet Turbines

    (depending upon the day, hour, or minute, evolution changes and can be quite violent reaction for no logical reason)
    or

    Two, three, four or more faces of random variation personality vs one logical mind.

    or, a historical moment of physical obliteration perhaps more apropos of NDE’s inevitable extinction by way of random mutational hits….

    Shoemaker-Levy Comet is to the Earth

    Or in recognitin of Gilder’s enlightened moment,
